Default Online School Director for Art of Problem Solving

One of the positions is running our online school. The other is less well-defined, but is in math education and will be customized to the candidate."

Online School Director

The Art of Problem Solving online school has experienced substantial growth over the last few years, and we now reach thousands of students every year. We seek a math educator with management experience to lead the ongoing development of our online school.

Position Responsibilities

Hire new instructors, assign instructors to courses, review instructor performance
Manage our network of teaching assistants and graders
Develop procedures and direct the development of tools that allow the school to grow efficiently
Create new course material and improve existing material
Teach online courses
Communicate with existing and potential customers about AoPS materials

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics or other math-related field
Teaching experience, especially experience working with high-performing middle or high school students (a teaching certificate or credential is not necessary)
Experience managing others in a workplace or academic setting
Strong communication skills; experience with mathematical writing is highly desirable
Strong interest in mathematics education
Familiarity with one or more of the following is a big plus: LaTeX, HTML, MySQL, Python
