Alright, this won't have all of my comments because I left my notes AND my headphones at home today.

µ-Ziq: Really dug this song. I listened to it more than any other song this round. 3 points I would have like to give it four, but there are too many songs I like this round.
Camel: Great song. 2 points
Cowboy Mouth: This one probably suffered because I couldn't get it to play in WMP, so every time I wanted to listen to it I had to switch to Quiktime. Catchy, but not catchy enough.
Cracker: After a couple of listens, I found this song really annoying
Flux Pavilion: Obviously my song. I almost submitted a different one because I thought people would be turned off by the rapping and the lyrics, but I really like the music in this song. I'm happy to see that some other people share my opinion! 3 points
Gomez: Easily my third favorite song of the round. I caught myself humming it very frequently. 2 points
Kelly Osbourne: No.
Kenna: Almost got a point but it was one of two I had to xhave at the end.
Magnetic Fields: I like this song. Every time I heard the intro, I would think to myself "I can get rid of one of my points here", but then it would come in all the way and I'd be kind of head bobbing and it would get it's point back. 1 point
Pain of Salvation: Catchy, but kind of forgettable. This is the second point that got shaved at the end.
Suicide Machines: I feel like I would really like this song if I saw it performed live, but it didn't do much for me here.
The Dillinger Escape Plan: I like the music but couldn't deal with the vocals.
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra: This didn't sound like the ska I am used to, which definitely contributed to me actually liking it! Totally dug this song. 2 points
Yeasayer: 1 point

I meant to mention it this morning, but...

I attended a concert last night. And I have to say, the opening band Kicked. My. Big Fat. Booty.

Seriously.

I told them afterwards - and I'm absolutely serious - that if I didn't have a wife and kids, I'd pack up my things and follow them around the country. They are truly that good.

The headliners were awesome as well, but IMO the spots could have easily been switched.

And there's no way I'm telling you guys the name of either band, for reasons that will become apparent next time around. I've said enough already.

I can't believe I'm functioning with so little sleep. It's been a long time since I've attended a club gig.

I think it might have to do with structure.
DEP has a lot more jazz influence and is 10^10 times more complicated, so it comes off as noise unless you pay really close attention (with the vocals, it's really hard to make out the bass line )

My votes a bit later, but two points:

- I think I was 6 for 6 on Werewolf guesses. Do I win something?
- Clearly, anybody who didn't vote for Magnetic Fields is a homophobe. my red text is broken

Okay, the 10^10 times more complicated part is just wrong. I'd have to play both to tell you which one was really harder, but it's comparing "complicated as hell" to "complicated as hell". No way that ratio is 10^10.

Record it. And show the video. Maybe I'll give a concession to it being 10^8 or 10^9.

I've only met one guitar player that could pull off those parts. Then compound the fact that you have to play along with another guitar player, who's timing will be a half beat off from you on a jazz scale

I mean, we listened to the same Vela, Together We Await the Storm, right? That's not a slouch song at all. I do think DEP might have the edge, but it's not by a wide margin. And THA are just as impressive live, FWIW.
