Default List your favorite text editor(s)

Regardless of platform, I can't work without a text editor open at all times. I write almost everything in them and use them for countless utilitarian tasks.

My favorite on a Mac is TextMate. It may be the greatest ever made, but it's not being actively developed anymore. I use Notepad++ in Windows.

Do you use any extensions in Notepad++? I've tried and could never get them working properly. I only tried two, but neither would work.

Nope, not in Notepad++.

In TextMate, "extensions" are called bundles. They are really what make it so powerful. It's crazy what people come up with: from typesetting and automating LaTeX to doing Google searches in-line without leaving the text editor.
