You can write full blown macros in Kedit by using its programming language "Hex". I know a guy who programmed it to develop extract's and model point files for our software. In short Kedit is the bomb diggity.

I've never used Kedit but it sounds a lot like TextMate from your description. I'll have to check it out.

Looks like Kedit is pretty much done. Are TextMate and Kedit related?

No, I don't think they're related in any way. But it sounds like both fill a similar niche: mind blowing macro and extension support.

I'll start.

I have lots of batch files that do all kinds of crazy and useful things. Sometimes I need to lift and move them into other directories. File paths and other things need to be updated in both the batch files and other supporting text files that the batch files access.

I open all of them in Notepad++ simultaneously and do a search and replace on all files at once. Then I click the save all open files button. It's a super efficient way to update a lot of files at once.
