Default Does this ever happen to you?

You find someone that you met or know about in a certain situation (say the AO or in a random hobby of yours), look him/her up on Facebook and realize that you and this person have a shitload of mutual friends in common - and that you likely ran into each other all the time previously without ever actually meeting.

This happened to me earlier this week and again just now. Crazy.

did you know on the 'it's a small world' ride at disney world, there's only one reference to jews? and there's a dragon on the ride. dragons get as much airplay as jews.

Serious response:

I do find crossing up life patterns with other people to be interesting. I would guess in the actuarial profession it is fairly common. I'm not a facebook person but the public aspect of being able to trace peoples life it is easier to see the intersections.

It helps to move around a lot, have a large family, and generally know lots of people to have this crap happening all the time.

Also, moving to NYC and hanging out in bars can help this sort of crap along.
