Passed. If any Actex representatives are reading these posts. Your manual was great for everything except the Derivatives material. It was impossible to read the modules without the McDonald text by my side. Based on how weak those sections were I find myself skeptical to cash out on an Actex manual for the next exam.

Interesting. I relied on Actex exclusively for FM and had no problem with any DM questions on the real exam. I found those to be the most straightforward and least time-consuming questions. That said, I think Actex assumes that you read the DM textbook since they give solutions to some textbook problems and constantly refers to the theory and formulas from the text.

Passed! Felt really easy after failing in June, working my way thoroughly through ASM, and then getting a 15-day pass on ADAPT. I'm so glad I found out I could take both calculators in, I was switching between the two of them constantly.

Passed! Whew... I was definitely more prepared this time, but the questions were a lot clearer too.
I took about 3 guesses and I had doubts about some more questions, so I don't know what my score might be though. I did the two TIA practice tests the day before the exam, I think those helped a lot. |

Passed! Studied for about a week and was a nervous wreck. Felt extremely confident on all but 3 questions.

May I ask why a lot of you are going for MFE next?
I took MFE just after passing P, I want to take it again. How about C? I thought it would be feasible for me to do both. Am I overconfident again? The topics on C are familiar to me because I used that kind of statistical tools for my physics research... I know taking a multiple choice test on it is another matter though. I am not employed as an actuary yet. Which test would be better to take to maximize my chances of getting employed? Even if I am taking both, I should give one of them priority I think... |
