I don't think Brian Sanderson is Jordan's son. (Are you thinking of Dune with Brian Herbert finishing off his dad's work along with Kevin Anderson?)

Yeah good catch, I didn't mean his son, I meant the author chosen by his wife. Too many authors dying before they can finish their own work, my bad!

Would have voted for Discworld series over Ender's Game if it were on the list, and DragonLance (core Weis/Hickman) over 1984.

Weren't both Going Postal and Small Gods on the list? Or did you mean as a whole series?

Small Gods is an awesome book btw.

Going Postal and Making Money were two of the more enjoyable books in the disc world.

I think that's what he meant. Though the series isn't really a series per se.

My wife and son love all the Pratchet books. They are a bit on the silly side for my taste.

I thought that Jordan has a say in it as well . . . perhaps I'm recalling things wrong as well.

BTW, I thought Sanderson did a good job of getting some of the plot lines cleaned up and getting the story refocused for the final confrontation.

Jordan left notes before he died that detailed the entire plot, so none of the specific things that happened can be credited to Sanderson, merely the way in which they were told. Also, the final chapter of final book was written by Jordan.

I knew there were detailed notes . . . but having the notes is one thing and getting it in story form is another; and it's this latter part that I am crediting Sanderson with (prehaps I was too vague in the earlier post).

I'm also under the impression that Sanderson had numerous (perhaps several is the better descriptor?) conversations with Jordan before his death as well. Or am I starting to make things up, now?
