I noticed a lot of the Oklahoma writers yesterday floating the idea of OU and Okie St to the Pac 10 12 14 16. I'm guessing that wasn't a coincidence and they were given a tip from inside the OU administration to "gauge initial reaction".

The rumor I've seen from a credible source is OU, Okie St, T Tech, and either Texas/Mizzou/Kansas, depending on if Texas wants to go independent or not. Also, if Texas goes to the Pac, they are going to have to totally rework the LHN and share its profits with the rest of the Pac.

Yup, that was what I was getting at. Us left coasters are a bunch of sharing socialist liberals, so Texas better get used to it.

He isn't really that credible. Most of his stuff is borderline shock value.

I was under the assumption that the PAC rules were that no one school could have their own network, but you could have "regional" networks. So if those 4 schools do go to the PAC-##, it would make sense to convert the LHN into the Southern Plains Network (or some such) and have it cover OU/OSU/UT/TT sports. That chanel actually sounds a lot more feasable to me (and I am a longhorn).

I'm still in the boat of Texas going Independent. They get to keep the LHN and they then they have even more games to negotiate another TV deal.

PAC 12 would have to either look at another Texas school (Baylor, TCU) or maybe KU or KSU. KSU is more respectable in Football and it's basketball team is pretty good. I think KU would be a decent gamble, immediately upgrades the basketball league and I think Turner Gill is going to turn that football program around given enough time. I mean he took a Buffalo team that went 5-41 in the 4 years before he got there to 20-30 in the 4 years he was there. It's not fantastic, but he was in Buffalo, not exactly a place that excites anyone for recruiting purposes.

I think Mizzoo is going to go SEC. Unless Big 10 opens it doors for another round of expansion already, but personally I think the SEC is going to have trouble finding a 14th team and will need to turn to Mizzoo to fill that hole.

So eventually there will be a Pacific Conference, Midwest Conference, and Southeast Conference.

And some sort of Northeast Conference that will still get a BCS bid for some reason.

The Pac just rolled out their network plan this summer. With the conference at 12, it would be 7 total networks. One main Pac network (similar to the Big Ten Network) and then one individual network for So Cal, No Cal, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Utah/Colorado (which I'm assuming is only available in those regions).

If OU and Okie St join, then you could count on one regional network for Okalohoma. It Texas and Tech school join, the LHN would probably have to be converted to the Texas regional network.

Honestly after all of this, as a Mizzou fan I'd rather stay in the Big 12 than go the SEC. Right now Mizzou might be the 3rd best football school going forward (even the rumored additions), and in the SEC they'd be around 7th or 8th (or maybe lower).

However, I'd still rather go to the Big 10 than stay in the Big 12.

If push comes to shove, I'd suspect the Pac-12 would rather take Kansas over Missouri. Sure, the football team would be a pushover - but they'd get a huge boost from the basketball team and greater exposure as a result. Missouri is ... OK, but not really outstanding in anything [unless the Pac-12 really values softball and wants to corner the west half of the country in that sport].

Big 10+2 is a better fit, geographically for ISU and Mizzou.
