can't a candidate respond to someone putting them down?

Maybe the opponents should use facts. The web site is only attacking smears.

Smear is in the eye of the beholder. One of the "lies" is that Obama hasn't been a strong ally to Israel. Isn't that one a matter of opinion or degree rather than fact. The whole site is pretty idiotic, aside from the 1984 factor.

First thing Hitler did was control the press and intimidate/silence all critics.

He's done the press thing already.

Getting the citizens involved in helping you intimate and silence critics/press is "bad". If Bush did this, it'd be a huge scandal.
