If that chapter doesn't start with "Matt thinks he's a special little snowflake..." it's no good and stop reading that shit right there.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference, and I'm guessing most girls can.

She must have seriously misread me because I could tell that she was expecting me to agree with all that stuff. I think I could have tolerated that stuff If i had learned about it later, but upfront like that was a total turnoff.

If you read the person well and you happen to agree, politics talk can be lots of fun even on a first date or meet. It's risky though!

If it's observable and measurable, then it's gotta be included. Science and shit.

I was just saying this past weekend that if someone cares enough about religion to bring it up on the first date, no matter what their stance on religion actually is, they're probably not going to be a good match for me. But that's just me.

Depends on the thesis !

If it's in physics and she looks hot (to me) then I'd be glad to hear about it

If the thesis is called "problematization of the mis/trans/cispriviledged bodies as seen from a post/trans/cis/Colonial perspective" then I'm already going "oh not that stuff again!".

What if she's a student at IU and doing research for the Kinsey Institute?

That's really funny. Unless you met at an occupy whereever thing, that's probably not a good lead in.

I have on first dates played Chuck Todd and talked about recent polls/trends and about the strategies of the parties, but I didn't offer where I stood on issues. I've also dated someone that I met because I volunteered at a call center for a candidate. It was a bit more natural to talk about politics there because we at least had something/someone we agreed on. So yes, I can imagine politics being fun to talk about, but it's not my usual go to.

Typically on first dates I take her to an underground casino, hire a prostitute, and do lines of coke off of the hooker's left elbow.

If my date disapproves I tell her that she's a freedom-hating cock-gobbler and deserves to be eviscerated by an angry 500-pound wolverine (the animal, not the fictional comic book character).
