If I take 8V and pass it in 2004, what does it mean in regards to the new 2005 exam system? Do I need to submit a PD plan by YE 2004 and get it approved to execute and finish it in 2005, so that I finish before having to take another new fellowship exam under the new 2005 system?
I haven't found clear instructions around the PD requirements and what the 2005 changes means for those of us in this situation. Do the SOA Annual Meetings offer conferences/discussion sessions on understanding the FSA process or in particular this part of it? I've asked people at my job, and they always refer me to the syllabus, but it's not the most clear explanation. |

I hope that the SOA would give people who have PD left to do in 2005 some leeway. I.e. until YE-2005/06.
To be on the safe side, I suggest preparing your initial PD plan and line up the advisor before the fall 2004 results arrive in mid-January 2005. Submit/courier as soon as results are published mid-afternoon that day. Also, ask the SOA. And please report back to us! |
