Meh. It's easy to throw Molotovs when you're at the top of the hill and nobody's asking you for solutions.

Bish needs to get to the point. I ain't got 9 minutes.

I feel bad for her employers having to deal with her 5 hour meetings.

I don't think that public school is set up to simply advance the wishes of the elite class, just that over the decades we have collectively decided that people are stupid if they don't know stuff like trigonometry or Civil war history, so we decided to mandate teaching that. So I guess I disagree with her there. I do think we need to mandate less and make things in public school more elective. Most things beyond freshman year seemed more than what is needed to be a functioning member of society in the US. I enjoyed AP Bio, Physics, and Chem, but I don't use them now, so the time was wasted.

So much time is spent in mandated classes that the students can't find out what they are actually passionate about. Thye tick the next box, and after 4 years, hope they made the right choice for college. Many screw up and pile up more debt as they use college to figure out what they want to do.

So she has some good points. just needs less foil.

High school:
Year 1) Take the basic crap everyone should know. Include a home finance class.
2) Take a bunch of crap from at least two different areas you think you enjoy.
3&4) Focus on the area of choice.

You've obviously never read the history of who financed the schools (it wasn't gov't) and why.

Just get some books out and read!

If she comes within three to four inches of me, she'll get it.
