that was more an Obama sucks appearance, imo. But for the record, Bush sucked even more. Sort of like comparing two turds in the pot to see which one is bigger.

Abound Solar Inc., based in Colorado, received a $400 million federal loan guarantee, and borrowed about $70 million of that amount. It now plans to file for bankruptcy and close, according to the Department of Energy, which awarded the loan.

Government should have bought the solar cells. I mean, if any were actually built. Then, sold them at a price lower than the Chinese's. That'll teach those predatory-pricers!!

Pretty much. What we and the Chinese did were the same. The Chinese just did it so much more that they won.

I honestly do not care about companies' going bankrupt. Too bad. Took a risk and lost.
I don't like that I (actually anybody -- my current house is unsuitable) can't buy Chinese solar cells at the price that the Chinese want to sell them. The more people that buy solar cells, the lower the price of normal electricity should be. Win-win. Win.

I agree that tariffs are a pretty lousy move. If we want to "win" at manufacturing we should pull up our pants and subsidize our own long-term markets.

Or, just let us buy low-priced Chinese solar cells.
Some importing company is going out of business because of tariffs. Why does Obama hate America???

Actually, if we're going to sh*t all over ourselves like that we should probably do it with our pants down. Less messy.
