That's great. Enjoy the successes. I hope you get many more. I'm a huge believer in the saying - you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. If writing is one of his big successes, then by all means - run with it.
I'll add some detail about my life. My Aspy son (who ate a diet of only french fries and bread between the ages of 4-8 (I was told that food texture is a big thing for kids on the spectrum. I think that both our son's diets confirm that)) now attends a highly ranked university and recently joined a fraternity. I'm very proud of him and all that he has accomplished. He learned to make new friends (after all his elementary school friends moved away) and even joined clubs in high school. I'd like to think that some of it had to do with my focusing on the positive and ignoring the trivial details that don't really matter. But I'll never know for sure.
