I feel like during the exam I will probably take a 5 minute break just to regain my focus and concentration since 3.5 hours is probably more than enough time to finish the exam. This is all assuming I can go at a normal pace and not panic...

I also hate this exam. I have gotten a 5 on it twice now, just can't seem to get over the hump

The material isn't too bad, I hate studying, though. Need to put in about 100 more hours in the next two weeks.

I paniced in Feb. It started when I got a crapload of (a,b,1) right from the get-go. I calmed down a little once the Buhlmann questions kicked in (lots of those) then I had a second panic attack when the foreign loss model questions came rolling in. It didn't help that there were no Bayesian (my strong point) or MLE questions in sight (well, one MLE and it was an algebraic cluster). There were what I believe to be an unusual number of simulation questions peppered throughout which is the only reason I managed the 5.

I'm thinking of trying a klonipin or xanex before the exam but I'm afraid of what that might do.

why don't you take one before a study session and see how it works for you

Foreign meaning I had never seen a question like it. It was a question concerning loss models but I just had no idea what it was asking for. There were a few like that. It might have been the panic setting in.

For some reason this was me the morning of my exam prior to going to my CBT appointment ->

It was all downhill from there ... ...

you could've made up some BS and really had me freaking out.

I've had the for a couple weeks now. ASM PEs just destroy me, to the point it's almost not even worth trying to do it timed. Think I'm improving some, I can handle probably 4 of 5 on the SOA 289 sample. There's no one problem topic. If the difficulty ratchets up, I have problems across the board.
