You want three levels of reserve leagues?
Q: Which teams are generally better in England: top of Reserves, or top of Championship?

So anyway...
Protection lists were due yesterday. Some fairly big names left off. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...rotected-lists Freddy Adu, Brian Ching, Omar Bravo... Probably more important to Montreal, though, is the plethora of young cheap guys with tremendous upside: Zarek Valentin, Kosuke Kimura, Anthony Ampaipitakwong, Michael Fucito, Tyson Wahl, Seth Sinovic, Soony Saad, etc. Montreal could truly make a decent starting 11 from these lists. Will be really interesting to see what deals are flying and who actually gets selected.

On Sporting Kansas City's side, barring any deals that go that prevent a selection, we're losing someone. We've got both Michael Harrington and Seth Sinovic on our unprotected list, both of whom play left back. Sinovic got the start over Harrington most of the season, is younger and cheaper, so you have to think he's first to go there. The other guy we have on there is Soony Saad, the 19 year old forward from Michigan who's already shown a lot of potential.
Seems like we'll be without Saad or Sinovic in the next few days...

Wow, first pick by Montreal was Brian Ching, who publicly announced that if he was selected he would retire.
So far we've got 1. Ching 2. Zarek Valentin 3. Justin Mapp

Super surprised Kimura wasn't picked, must have had a deal going somewhere.
Sad to see Sinovic go.

Riley was immediately traded to Chivas for Justin Braun and Gerson Mayen.

Looks like Sporting KC traded Davy Arnaud to Montreal to get Seth Sinovic back plus a little extra allocation money.
I was really kind of hoping Arnaud would retire in KC. He went from being picked #50 in the 2002 draft to being team captain, has the most appearances of any KC player, and is definitely a fan favorite. Can't say this is a bad deal, though - instead of Arnaud getting picked outright in the Expansion Draft, we get a little allocation money to go with it.
