Default Course 7 Struby/Wilson Manual

I just started for course 7 and realized the Struby/Wilson manual does not cover SN 7P-21-00 Chapters 8,11,12, and 12. Anybody know why or have either of their email addresses?

I hope you are not taking the pre-test this week...

Actually, the Struby-Wilson manual has all the chapters in the LRF study note. It's just that it somehow puts some of the chapter summaries towards the middle of the manual. If you look for them, you'll find them!

The original syllabus organized the readings according to the stated course objectives and Chaps. 8, & 11-13 fit into a different learning objective than did 2-4 & 14.

That makes some sense... In any case, that text is pretty bad reading in my opinion, even though I wasn't looking for a novel. I liked Applied Futurism better.

For the test, you need to be able to find in the study notes key words or expressions about which questions will make a statement. The two basic decision activities in the exam are: confirm or disconfirm statements (True/False-, "which is (not) true?"-, Assertion/Reason-type questions) and discern between expressions (X Y - I II III-type questions), but you might also get a rare simple calculation question where you'll need a formula from the texts. Many of the statements are counter-intuitive, so that's not something you can just follow your gut and be fine with (like it might be sometimes in other exams). So you better check in the study notes. And do it fast, as you have two minutes to choose your answer for each question!

Well, I've got to get going, or else I might fail the pre-test on Friday! Good luck to all who are taking the pre-test (in proportion to how much you've studied)!!!

Did any of you create an index or table of contents for the exam? I have LOTS of tabs and that seems to be working fine. Just wondering what if anyone thought an index would be helpful.

An index is ILLEGAL!

The email that was sent out last week from the SOA regarding course 7 stated that you "may use an index or table of contents as well as tabs, post-it notes, or dividers" to organize the SNs. I had assumed an index was not allowed so I have been relying on my tabs and now will not take the time now to make an index. Also it later says that "no additional pages of notes, lengthy summaries, or prepared outlines are permitted." Seems like there can be a fine line between the two, so I am not going to take my chances.

Good luck to all!

LA girl and all: I got my SNs already highlighted and scribbled on, so I showed them to the proctor in advance. Also, Mocciolo's Actex had an index of terms at the end, and enouraged you to practice finding them quickly in the SNs. I didn't do that, but after writing 3 sample exams could find most of them decently fast.
Good luck

An index is allowed, but prepared outlines are not. This is a bit subjective and open to interpretation. If you want to have an index, just make sure your proctor agrees with its format (preferably before Friday). I have tabs and highlighting, and I also have smaller indexes within study notes.
