The first half and penalties were awesome, the rest was a bore. First game was hard to beat though.

Someone should check the betting patterns.

Definitely not happening this year. In the future, however, they may take a look at how these cards are accumulated.

Personally, I think I'm in support of the status quo. This would be less of an issue if:

- Ivanovic had just kept his mouth shut following the awarding of the PK in the second half
- Ramires as well (dissent in the first half)
- Terry not been red-carded.

Meireles's foul looked silly and late on, but imagine if Messi had been clear in on goal. He had at least 3 yards of space in front of him, and if he had gotten going, things might be very different now.

So Ivanovic & Ramires should be pardoned for mouthing off? Not so much.

I think you can lump the Europa League semi's into this group, all thanks to Thiago and Bilbao's comeback.

I don't mind the status quo, except for how the final is played out. I would like to see all people in the final. If someone made a foul that was so bad that they need to miss a game, then they should be suspended for it.

I agree. The two-yellow rule should be out for the final. A red card in the semis should still garner a suspension, IMO.

But you can't change the rule now just because Chelsea has so many players out.

I mean, the players knew the rules going into the tournament. Besides, it's kind of funny.

Well, the rule says three yellows (not sure where your "two" comes from) in tournament (over many games) means suspension for the next match.

Here's a tip: don't foul so recklessly.
