Default Canadian FEM universities announced

It's either the beginning of something wonderful, or the death of the profession, depending who you talk to:

Simon Fraser University;
Université du Québec à Montréal;
Université Laval;
University of Manitoba;
University of Regina;
University of Toronto;
University of Waterloo (undergraduate and graduate program courses); and
University of Western Ontario.

Just saw that. Couldn't bring myself to read the whole thing.

Suffice it to say that it's definitely not something wonderful.

I won't post the whole thing, key highlights:

The communication doesn't highlight the minimum grade

The communication states that this will work for SOA and CAS exams. Interesting as my understanding was the CAS wasn't on board.

My understanding is right now you don't get credit to FCAS, but you do get credit towards FCIA. Do if you get credit for 2, 3 and 4 via university, and pass 1, 5-9, and all the other stuff, you'll be FCIA but not FCAS.

This.

I'm not Candian, but my understanding was pre-FEM, FSA or FCAS + PEC = FCIA, now they have added, FEM stuff + other FCAS or FSA exams not covered by FEM stuff + PEC = FCIA.
