I can understand the sentiment...you can't stand someone so much, it doesn't matter the quality of the work they produce.

It just seems to me that once you start objecting to one actor (athlete/whatever) based on his/her personal off screen activities, it just opens pandora's box. If your minimum standard is the way he spoke to his daughter (or whatever Baldwin did), then what about those who have done far worse?

Seriously, you think the way a father treats his own daughter is a low standard? I would say that's about the worst thing a man can do is be a poor excuse for a father.

I have more respect for a man who would lie, cheat and steal for his family than a man who treats his own daughter like garbage.

I'm not sure, to be honest If I am as univresal as I think. I can think of a ton of things actors/athletes have done that is vile, but I can't think of a time where I have let that interfere with with my enjoyment of their product.

The only name that comes to mind as vile would be roman Polanski. That being said, i don't think I've had a desire to go out and see a movie he's made. And if I have seen one, I didn't know it was his movie.

This debate reminds me of when all the Hollywood "elite" gave Elia Kazan the silent treatment when he accepted his Lifetime Achievement Oscar, but a few years later gave Polanski a huge ovation when he won Best Director.
