With keeper submissions due in just over a week, I'd kinda like to post my current keeper plans to make it clear that I'm not using any insider information about others' keepers to make my decisions. I don't think (m)any of us are guarding our keeper plans, but you never know. So here's what I'm looking at as keepers today:
Daniel Hudson (5) ; Desmond Jennings (7) ; Jordan Walden (8) ; Matt Moore (10) ; Dee Gordon (10) ; Paul Goldschmidt (10) I'm also considering Mike Moustakas (6) and Javy Guerra (10, would be 9 for my situation). I need to do some more research on those guys and there expected roles in 2012. If any of you are interested in trading for either of them or maybe Elvis Andrus (3), let me know. |

I've gotten a quick series of responses from the Board on the topic of how to account for keeping a player in an earlier round than required, when you have multiple picks in that round.
The question is: When keeping a player with a pick that’s in a round earlier than that player’s designated keeper round, does the pick used have to be the owner’s first pick in that round? The rule that comes into play has been written as: “Costs, Other - You may use a lower round for keeper purposes; such that a 15th round selection one year may be taken in the first, second, third, ... or eighth round the next. Only one player may be kept per each pick you own in a given round. It you have more than one pick in the round, the earliest pick in the round will be used for keeper purposes.” The question seems to center around whether (a) the last sentence in that rule applies to this situation vs (b) the potential that the spirit of the ‘Lower Round” rule was to allow for any pick in an earlier round to be used in this case. The Board has ruled that option (b) is the preferred interpretation of the 'Lower Round" keeper rule and that such interpretation should go into effect for the 2012 season. I'll make an addendum to the league rules to cover this ruling. |

Being "Teh Observer", should I be getting access to the special place where these decisions are made? Or am I only on a "need to know basis"?

I sent my keepers into BP this afternoon. I'll be somewhere warm on a beach next week sipping frozen drinks with an umbrella in them, so depending on internet signal, you may or may not hear from me until the draft.
