Default Which Manual/Seminar to choose?

for 2012 GH-CSP exam:

1. GRASP
2. MATE
3. TIA
4. Other

Let's say cost is not an issue but time is, is TIA alone sufficient to help you pass the exam?

Do you have time to go over both TIA and MATE?

I can't just pick one. I didn't use TIA's manual (honestly, I guess I didn't read enough and didn't even know the seminar contained one before I ordered it).

Here is what I used:
- TIA seminar (videos and practice problems)
- GRASP manual
- MATE notecards

My primary source was the GRASP manual. In the interests of full disclosure, I got my second 5 on CSP this last sitting, but I still think it is a formula for success

Thanks.

I just passed DP. Will sit it for CSP Fall 2012. Seems like the syllubus will not change from spring to fall.

This is a one-shot deal. If I don't pass this fall, I then need to take an extra exam to reach FSA (new requirement eff. July 2013) -- really don't want to go that route.

Why GRASP manual and MATE cards? Why not picking from manual and cards from the same source?

I am not 100% certain on this, but I believe I read that if you passed on of the current FSA exams, it would could as one of the 5 hour exams and the two hour exam.

Are the FNC, FC, and FA exams only for people who want to jointly pursue the CERA and FSA designations?

Or starting in the Fall of 2013 will DP and CSP be completely eliminated (even for those seeking only the FSA)?

It's my understanding that DP and CSP will both be gone.

I liked the setup and flow of the GRASP manual (haven't seen MATE) but didn't like how many more notecards there were for GRASP. I used the same set for DP and passed first try, so I stuck with what worked

I'd rather take one long exam, than take 2 short exams.

Packman,

Okay, I just read the rules …

Since you have DP, you’ll be given credit for FNC (the 2-hour exam) and one of the two 5-hour exams (see the link below).

http://www.soa.org/education/general-info/edu-timing.aspx

Even if you don’t get CSP before it is eliminated, all you’ll be required to pass is one 5-hour exam. That’s at least a little bit of good news for you!
