Default Another $5 Million Check to Newt

So this Adelson guy (well his wife this time) is giving Newt's Super PAC ANOTHER $5,000,000.

I am sure he has no other reason than he thinks Newt is a great guy. Shouldn't the media be looking into why this guy is so willing to help out?

Isn't this exactly the thing the SCOTUS said they couldn't imagine happening?

Aren't there ways to make these donations annonymous? If so, then the question to go along with "why is he doing this" is "why does he want us to know he's doing this".

Unfortunately, I think they saw it coming and 5/9 of them didn't see a problem.

I don't see a problem really. If a rich guy wants to bankroll our primary, let him. He's always been a Republican, and clearly just hates Romney. I don't think he's looking for tax breaks for casinos. Harry Reid handles that.

Or, we could just sell votes directly. You get one free vote. After that, you can buy as many votes as you like for $1 each.

Why go through the inefficient process of sending sending the money to TV stations and running annoying political ads when it could go to the gov't and we could use it to pay down the debt?

There would be fewer jobs with that approach.

Rick Perry spent gobs in IA and got hardly any votes. Meg Whitman and Linda McMahon spent millions trying to get elected and it probably didn't help them a wit. Meanwhile, you get your wealth distribution and a free economic "stimulus package". I say lets get more rich guys to try and buy elections.

No the donations cannot be anonymous, even Super PAC's have to detail who gave them their money. Now when the donor is a corporation it can get a little more murky just who is giving, but corporations are people to, right?
