Just purchased the ASM manual for MFE and excited to continue learning these derivatives . A friend just told me that some1 studied through ASM manuals for P, FM and a bit of MFE, then purchased a new ACTEX manual to try something new but switched soon after, as it didn't seem thorough enough. ASM seems like the way to go.

Just a heads up, I also purchased the ASM manual as another resources for a different look at understanding concepts and of course all the nice PEs and practice problems.

I would recommend the combo of ASM/Coaching Actuaries MFE e-course.
Dr. Weishaus is the man! ADAPT is essential to pass MFE.

Wow, you guys seem to be way ahead. I just passed FM yesterday and I'm yet to start studying for the August MFE on Monday. I hope I'm able to gain some speed with your helpful posts guys.

The registration probably opens in mid to late May... The last day to register for the August sitting is June 20th.

Which is just about 8 weeks after the April sitting, when we get our official (and only) results. I guess we register for the exam the same day we get the results? This is so dumb.

I begin studying tomorrow! I'm actually very excited to get back into stress free studying and learning with so much time until the August exam.

I had to force myself not to open any material this weekend. It's funny how when you get in a habit of working every day towards something it is difficult to feel okay with taking it easy for a week. I spent the extra time getting my cover letter and resume together.
