Women (maybe not all, but we are out there) can play different roles at different times and for different people. We are complex people with different facets of our personalities.

Oddly, it was the more feminist women I dated who loved corsets. I think it's because secretly, they wanted to be told what to do.

It's easy to get judgemental about the SAHMs and SAHDs if you believe that everyone should get a paying job. I tend to give these people the benefit of the doubt and stay out of their business.

But OTOH, I knew this working girl who had a husband who stayed at home and there were no children. I couldn't help thinking, "What's wrong with this picture?" I still don't understand it, but I'll admit that it's very hard not to be judgmental. For me, it seems that if there are kids then it's okay. If no kids, then "what's wrong with you?"
