The answer is C. Move the ball around and get Lebron a high-percentage shot on a back-cut or lane catch that could also result in free throws.
Also, the statistical refuting of Hero ball includes free throws.

But teams could be remade into this model. Why would teams not adapt a model that would be more successful and you don't have to worry about pampering and paying some hero ball players?

Sort of like how the Patriots have changed the NFL. Seems like the NBA needs a Moneyball like change. Though, it is questionable whether it actually changed MLB. NFL seems to have changed in some ways. The Jordan/Kobe era should come to an end. This is a reason I would like to see Miami fail

Because most NBA front offices are filled with idiots. Examples:

Rashard Lewis made over $21M this season
Elton Brand made over $17M
Emeka Okafor made over $12M
Mehmet Okur made over $10M
Corey Maggette made over $10M
DeAndre Jordan made over $10M

Its more of a coaching philosphy than a model. The Spurs model has always been to have 3 stars and rotate role players in and out that have a specific role. The thunder copied that aspect of the Spurs model, but not the 'no-iso' philosophy.

Durant is pretty efficient though it seems.

I was so annoyed by ESPN reports on the game, they kept repeating over and over "how the Spurs held Durant to no field goals in the 4th quarter"....yeah but how many free throws did he make. The media loves hero ball. Sure, S. Jackson played good defense on Durant but that is not why they won. 2 second half turnovers and an incredibly efficient offense is why the won. They started the 4th with 3 lay ups in a row (that was a good sign for things to come). Good coaching.

K. Smith on TNT had it right, while Barkley and Shaq are hero ball morans. Smith said the 3rd quarter, the Thunder were making low % shots while the Spur were missing high% shots. Eventually that usually turns around.

The worse I saw this year was the Miami-Utah game. Lebron single handley brings them back from double digits in the 4th to take the lead. Wade blows it by giving up a dumb and-1 to Devin Harris. Then with one last chance, Lebron passes out of a double team to a wide open Haslem who bricks a wide open J. And all anyone talks about is how Lebron isn't clutch. It's mind boggling.

Lebron passes for a wide open shot. Great play.

Jordan takes the shot being double teamed and swishes it. Greater play.

I'm amazed at how much better athletically Lebron is than anyone else in basketball history. That said, I would take Jordan if it came down to a last shot. Not even close.

I'm ok with him giving it to haslem. Donyell Marshall, no.

What if I were on the court? Should he pass to me or shoot it? My point is talent matters

Coaches are part politician, meaning that they have to have the public's support to remain employed (in many cases)
