Loving this season right now. Trying not to get hopes too high though. First place a month earlier than last year could just mean a collapse a month earlier this year. Interleague road games are always rough on the Bucs. It always turns into inserting a better defender into the line up and having an everyday guy be DH. And that better defender rarely has that much of an advantage over the pitcher.

That said, time to go take 2/3 from the birds. I heard a rumor we could see some throw backs to the 70s this week. Black and yellow stripes anyone?

Same here ... Still waiting for the killer eight-game losing streak, but let's enjoy it while it lasts and hope for the best.

Love how they liberally mixed & match the tops & pants in the '70s. All kinds of combinations of stripes, black, & gold from fashionable to fashion disasters.

Here is my take on throw backs. I for one think if you are going to throw back to an era then do it right. Make it an actual jersey that was actually worn. Make it unbelievably awful. The Bucs should wear something like what Moreno has on. The Steelers got it right with these butt ugly throw backs this year. That old "throw back" was not really a throw back. It was not anything they ever wore. Stylistically it reminded people of the 50s but nothing more. The Pens should bring back the banana look from Mario's rookie year. Instead they gave us a new blue jersey that has inklings of old jerseys all rolled into one.

My point is that they can be both extremely ugly and exteremely awesome at the same time.

The back end of the rotation got a little exposed by the O's last week. Can't think of a better team for them to rebound against other than the Twins.

I can't believe they plan on trotting Lincoln out there again on Saturday. Bring up Rudy owens and give him a shot. Lincoln needs to go to the pen and work the 7th, replacing juan Cruz who's accuracy has fallen off the cliff.

Totally agree. Lincoln is a good reliever, and is looking shaky as a starter.
