Im still young, but i was fortunate in that other than a small trust (think most of a house down payment) i didnt have any assets going to the recession, so i got in at the ground floor in early 2009.

I just sold my position in early april and im going to sit in a 2.3% savings account waiting for something to happen. My car and student loans are 3% so im basically matched.

So right now im probably half in a mid cap mutual fund and half in a 'high yield' fdic account, plus whatever my tiny 401k is. If i didnt have that id still be in the market on dividend stocks, but im typically more of an 80/20 equity investor

Private credit union (membership tied to employment in favored companies). I get 2.3% on the first 15k and they are selling car loans at 2.5%. Mine is at 3% and i could refinance but idont want to restart my clock and its peanuts anway.

Dont ask how they make any money ... its fdic insured so i dont care, i guess their average credit risk must be amazing due the private membership *shrug*

Anyway, my short term goals is to be debt free and be positioned for a house. All of my debt should roll off in two-three years. Rapidly paying down a 5 digit number is making life a struggle, but im living comfortably and it will open up options when its gone.

not terribly uncommon. 3.21% up to 25k at my local bank. was 4.25 when I started 4 years ago, but I'm still not complaining. That's why I'm not too sad to sit on a bit of extra cash. I have a rental property on my radar that I'm holding back some cash for as well.

As for asset allocation. 35% cash, 65% equity (maybe 20% intl with maybe half of that in emerging markets).
