yeah my friend who passed it last May said he saw maybe one question related to that section.

Most of the practice exams seem to have almost exactly one chapter 3 questions, how many "successful" combinations over how many possible combinations.

What I did was finish the manual, do one practice exam, then go back over anything and everything I struggled with in the book, made flashcards and reviewed for like 3 days, then went back to doing practice exams and I did a lot better after the mini-review/recap at the end. A lot of the stuff you struggled with while reading the chapters will seem a lot easier after getting through later chapters, so stuff makes more sense than when you read it earlier.

Good advice. I think instead of jumping the gun on adapt I'm gonna make really sure I know the material in actex, and do some practice exams. Then I'll get the two week adapt. Thoughts?

That's a good plan. I was thinking of that but for some reason i don't want to get ADAPT because I think I have enough practice exams/questions to go over.

I got the 30-day ADAPT subscription, and I love it/it's by far the best tool for figuring out your weak spots (at least in my opinion), but you should be good with the 2-week version. What I'm trying to do is figure out my weakest areas with ADAPT, work on them (primarily with Actex), try a subject quiz on them on ADAPT, then go back to the TIA and Actex exams and see how I do.

After doing 3 exams on ADAPT in between Actex exams my score went up about 6 points on the Actex practice tests, so ADAPT is awesome for picking out any last few weak points you have and eliminating them, but you definitely should be fine doing that in 2 weeks.

I tore through ACTEX and the SOA 153 recently and am sitting in just over 2 weeks. I'll probably be taking as many practice exams as I can from now until the exam.

Good luck to everyone!

Hey I'm pretty much in the same situation as you are. However, i on the other hand thought some of the questions in chapter 8,9 and 10 were hard to answer. I went through the book second time and i still had some hard time answering some of those problems (like 8 from each of those sections). I'm going to start doing SOA 153 soon. Aren't the questions from that very similar to the questions from the Actex?
