Reading the earlier threads from 1-3 years ago, it seems like MFE was an unpredictable tricky exam where you didn't know what you were gonna get.
Is MFE still like this right now, or have they changed it to make it more fair? |

Can't say I passed, but it seemed fair to me. If you practice well from popular study aides (ASM, ADAPT, etc) you have a good shot.

MFE was 'fair' a few years ago when I passed it. Hard, but fair. If by consistent, you mean easier, then I know nothing about that. I do remember repeats on my second run through exam C, which was bittersweet. On the one hand, it's a free question. On the other hand, it doesn't show my hard work...

I guess "fair" is subjective. You can have it mean 'within the rules and guidelines.' I think we mean more in terms of consistent with the syllabus as far as topics represented, and not a lot of terribly obscure or trivia-like questions.

I took it the first time it was computer based. It was much easier than the first 3 times I took it. On the other hand, I know a very smart person who just flunked it. So there must be some variability in the difficulty level

In the sittings prior to the CBT, the exam was literally reducing candidates to tears.
I sat in the first sitting of the CBT. The average pass mark shot up 15%. Apparently someone got a perfect 9 on the exam. |
