You need to work through 30 complete questions in order to get 19 right? Doesn't seem like a good hit rate.

It matters if you only have time for 20. After what I've seen at work and on here, I'm expecting the pass mark for this exam to be 16/30. It's not just students, employers are writing the SOA now too.

Getting a 7 instead of an 8 didn't seem to be the main concern of this discussion. I don't think that would generate much employer concern either.

The problem is that if the very top, overprepared, cream of the crop students can only work through 24 problems or so, where does that leave everyone else?
I, for example, tend to take awhile to process these questions, but I was okay with that because I was still doing fine on practice tests. I would work through 26 or so, and get maybe 23 correct. Shouldn't have any problem on the real thing, right? Well, on the actual exam, I literally got to 17 of the problems. I didn't even leave a mark on the scratch paper for the other 13. And hell, even I was overprepared according to ADAPT (level 8 when they recommend level 6). That is an issue.
