Default What do you regard a passing score on ADAPT?

ADAPT has this rule that 70% or Higher is a pass. The problem is ADAPT "Coachingactuaries" recycles questions from previous Exams and they re-appear so the score may be inflated?

What is a relatively safe ADAPT score for indicating a good >75% odds of passing the real exam?

26, 27, 28, 29, or 30? Or 30+ out of 35?

Just work as hard as you can until the test. I don't understand these posts that are all, "I did got this and this score do you think I'll pass?"

It doesn't matter. The test is < a week away are you going to go out to the bars if a lot of people on the AO think you have a good shot of passing?

I just use ADAPT because it has pretty much every previously released SOA question that relates to the material (and it has a so-so variety of original questions). It repeats questions way too much to truly be a proxy for the exam so I don't even bother using it for that. I just start a custom exam and immediately exit the exam to show the solutions and I just work the question then immediately check my answer. In other words, I just use it for another Q&A bank.

What ADapt level test do you consider to be the closest to the actual difficulty of the exam?

If you only use SOA questions, then probably around 8. Otherwise around 6 or 7 is what I would say.

Another thing to be concerned about:

ADAPT states based on surveys: "Studies have shown those who scored an ADAPT level of 7 or Higher had an 83.333% chance of passing the real exam."

This does NOT mean those who score a 7 in ADAPT have an 83.333% chance of passing. It means S(7) is the % of the participant distribution with 83.333% passing odds.

I do not know what the passing % is for the p(7) group unless I have 1) the break down of candidates by ADAPT score level or distribution of participants by ADAPT score and probability passing with of 6 or higher ADAPT level, OR 2) distribution function PDF for ADAPT score and passing %.
But since ADAPT reports that scores of 3 or higher achieve 64.4% it is a safe estimate that ADAPT scores of 7 are not too much lower than .83333

AND it is safe to assume at least some of the survey participants who reported their results did not use the ADAPT under the time constraints... (they paused, adjusted their time, or looked up answers in the book). Factoring in this, if you are simulating the real time pressure of a real exam, you probably can bet on a few more points than the survey indicators.

imo ADAPT kind of sucks, all it does is spit back a random selection of SOA problems at you and calls it a practice exam.

I do believe there is an option to use new questions only. By new, I mean that the ADAPT site hasn't given you that question yet. You can also filter out any SOA sample questions.
