Possible August COP in Chicago
Hey Everyone,
If anyone is interested in an August Course on Professionalism, e-mail Leanne Wieczorek at lwieczorek@casact.org If the CAS has enough interested candidates, they might go forward with it. Thanks!

The only information that I received was on Tuesday was that there were not enough candidates to move forward with it, and that they would advise me if that were to change. I figured that only a few people may have e-mailed showing interest. However, I felt like people wouldn't know that it was a possibility because it's not on the CAS website. That's why I posted it here because it would help get the word out... if enough candidates show interest, it could potentially happen.
I have no idea how likely this is in terms of a number. I just know that the times that are in place right now don't really work for me because of busy season at work, that's why I'm interested in an August COP.

My guess . . . if they need 50 attendees to go forward with an additional session, they're likely looking for 75 people to show interest. (Note that 50 is made up and 75 is selected relative to 50.)
IIRC, the CAS has created additional sessions when there was demand for an extra CoP session.

Yea, my co-worker took it in one of those extra sessions. It doesn't happen often but it happens.

A course on Professionalism doesn't just get thrown together, it usually takes months of planning to get a suitable location, volunteers, speakers, etc. Since it is already the middle of June, an August course in Chicago is incredibly unlikely.
The reaons for extra sessions in Chicago in the past were somewhat exceptional (G8 summit in Canada causing a course cancelation, very high demand for summer courses due to a surge in exam takers). Those situations just don't exist this year.
