May 2012: (World Series: OddSox over Ezekial Cumberland, 3rd place: Big Pete over lipman)

This game is open to 32 players, no more, no less. The last 8 players from the May 2012 game (Big Pete, Jables, Ezekial Cumberland, rekrap, lipman, Oliver Klozov, OddSox, violaactuary) are guaranteed a spot in this month's game, but the other 24 spots are up for grabs. All you need to do to enter is choose one team from each of the 10 groups below:

GROUP 1
Cardinals
Dodgers
Rangers

GROUP 2
Nationals
Rays
White Sox

GROUP 3
Blue Jays
Orioles
Reds

GROUP 4
Braves
Red Sox
Yankees

GROUP 5
Angels
Giants
Marlins

GROUP 6
Indians
Mets
Phillies

GROUP 7
Astros
Mariners
Tigers

GROUP 8
Diamondbacks
Pirates
Royals

GROUP 9
Athletics
Brewers
Rockies

GROUP 10
Cubs
Padres
Twins

The 32 players will be split into 2 leagues, each with 4 divisions of 4 players. Over the course of 15 days from June 7th - 21st, your roster will match up against that of each of the 15 opponents in your league. After the sign-ups are complete, I will slot the teams into leagues and divisions, and post the daily head-to-head schedule.

The scoring is as follows:
+5 points for each win by a team you selected
-2 points for each loss by a team you selected
+1 point for each run you win by in your victories

Total up your points for the day and compare to that our your opponent and see who gets the W and who takes the L. After June 21st, you will have played all of the other members of your league. In case of any ties for division title and/or playoff spots, there is an off day built in the schedule on June 22nd before the playoffs start, where the tie can be broken with a head-to-head matchup. There will be 8 playoff teams per league, composed of the 4 division winners, the 2 next best W/L/T records, and then the 2 next best total points scored. For seeding purposes, the division winners will be seeds #1-4, ranked by W/L/T record, they will get to choose their opponents for the first round, thus determining which wild card teams get slotted into seed #5-8. There is no reseeding in the playoffs.

There will be an extra day built in between each playoff series, in case an extra game is needed as a result of a tie in the playoffs. The playoffs start on June 23rd and are all best-of-3 format. The first round is June 23rd-25th, the quarterfinals June 27th-29th, the league championships July 1st-3rd, and the World Series July 5th-7th.

Thanks for running this again Jables! Hopefully I can pull off last-year's "miss playoffs in April and May, win in June" again

Anyone else find it interesting that the Yanks, Red Sox, and Braves are all in the same group... and it's the 4th grouping? None of them in the top tiers... changing of the guard.
