I would probably say about ~35% of the candidates will pass, which is reasonable. That's how MFE used to be before it turned into super easy CBT lol

Clearly SOA was not prepared for this outcome, thus screwed up should not offend them that much. Most of my buddies who took it with me didn't even bother to go for PAK as they were trying their ass off getting one more question done. I do not think that PAKers result in this sitting reflects any useful outcome, if any, it indicates how horrible this sitting was from number of people bothered to PAK. I believe it is perfectly legitimate to talk about a pass mark under 55%.
You might be right. However, your anecdotal evidence is not supported by any aggregate data I've seen so far. All the aggregate results I've seen appear comparable to the historical results of actuarial exams (35%-40% of candidates passing based on passmark of 17/30).

I'm sorry Exam MLC isn't offered 5-6 times per year and doesn't have a 50%+ passing % every sitting. Welcome to a real actuarial exam.

I think its between a 17 or 18, with the chance the SOA might just say 'screw it' and keep it at 19

People who are saying it will be a 16 are being naively optimistic, just like they were before the exam saying "Oh, don't worry too much about new stuff."

I hope it's 19, the more people that fail, the better I look.

When this sort of thing happenned with MFE, there were sittings of 35% pass. I highly doubt the SOA is going to adjust the pass mark very much. I get the impression that they would rather work on a better exam for next time than reduce the pass mark for this sitting. I would not hope for anything other than 18 or 17 with a question thrown out.

I'm not being naive. Look at the PAK results, the average is 4 questions lower than last time. If you want <30% passing, then set the pass mark = 18. I really don't think the SOA will be that severe.
