7-8 hours a day, for the most part.
20+ vacation days.
3 days/hour of exam.

Overall I think I've got a pretty good thing going.

I have 15 vacation days, it goes up by years of experience and tops out at 25 days.

For studying, 30 hours per hour of exam.

I work as much as I need to. Some days it's 2 hours, others it's 14. Averages to about 6 a day over the year.

25 PTO days + other sick time.

8-10hrs/day
18 vacation days
90-120 hours per exam

I work in P/C Consulting... so during reserve season, it's more like 10-12 hour days for 2 months.

I put in a 40 hour week, but I'm probably really working about half the time. I think I'm up to 27 PTO days a year now. I never work weekends. Passed all my exams awhile ago. I considered another job last year, but I couldn't give this gravy train up.

Most American actuaries work about 10 hours a day. More on the quarter, sometimes less off quarter. Vacation varies by experience. I get 25 days, when I started I got 10. In the US it's generally required to catch up on work related reading on the weekend. We also work on Saturdays on the quarter.

This sounds like a lot to foreigners but it's actually considerably less than most professions.
