Default have you ever regretted hiring someone?

It's been long enough now to see a clear picture, it was a mistake. I don't feel like going through the work required to really get rid of them, but, in retrospect it would've been better to just leave the position open until someone better came along.

Has anyone else made that mistake before? I think I've learned from it, but, it was probably too specific to this one person's traights to just avoide those traights in future, so, may not really be sufficient to improve the thought process going forward.

I've regretted other people's hires that I had misgivings about before the hire but was never asked for my input WAY more than any of my own hires.
