Was there so much Super-Pac money in the past? Not sure the rules changed but the dynamics have changed such that these "unconnected" Superpacs are running the advertising campaigns.

I don't remember the kinds of money in 2012 primary being spent in 2008 by either party.

Off topic, but caught my eye:

What type of phone in AF1 is not taxpayer-funded? Any chance it's a cell phone, like the ones us JSAs are told will bring the plane were in crashing down if we turn on in-flight? Or something different?

I'm just really uncomfortable with the amounts of corporate money being spent this time around. It just keeps growing. But you know all these entities that try so hard to hide themselves only donate because they expect a return on their investment. Woo Democracy...

What should frighten isn't how much money gets spent, but the simple fact that those spending the money rightfully view that as the best use of that money. That is only true if spending the money sways people.

Negative ads work, going to get ugly with all the money out there....I expect Mitt in magic underwear and Obama kneeling at a mosque to be prominent advertising features

Interesting comment. Would seem to imply that you're not troubled by the amounts of non-corporate money out there... and that this wasn't a concern in the last election, when the two candidates spent, what a combined billion dollars? Which doesn't include all the PAC money? The eventual winner had so much money left over that he did a 30-minute infomercial in prime time after basically all of the Republicans had given up and said they knew they were losing, because he couldn't figure out what else to do with the cash? But the thing that makes you uncomfortable is how much corporate money there is this time? Really?
