Default Calling Out Dr. Weishaus

Seriously Bro?

You come out with a second printing of the ASM manual with 100 more pages and a bunch more problems, but you are selling it for full price? How about releasing a supplement we could buy for those of us who failed and already purchased your first printing of the 11th edition? I guess that is too much to ask.

Not cool man. Those of us who failed in May were already taken advantage of by the SOA. You didn't need to jump on the band wagon. I thought you had lost touch with the material. Now I realize you just lost touch with the needs of your students.

Does anybody else feel the same? This was the last time I'll ever be using ASM.

Sure, cut your nose to spite your face. Nicely, could have actually done it but THAT was probably too much to ask

Honey is overrated, vinegar is where it's at.

Only a hillbilly sits around thinking of the best way to catch flies, but I think that manure would work better than either.

Supplements sell poorly, even when the syllabus changes. I'm not going to hypothesize why. I'm offering a supplement to Exam C with my 3 new practice exams - and I'm quite embarassed by the the sales figures for that.

Anyhow, the ADAPT data bank may be considered a supplement. I've written 100 new questions on the new material for them, and others are writing new questions for them as well. You'll get even more new questions going that route than you will by buying the 2nd printing.

Fair enough. I knew profit was part of it, but I think this may be an instance when the supplement could sell a little more.

Another possibility - only Abe could say if it makes any sense - is to offer the second printing at a substantial discount to any original purchaser of the first printing who returned the first printing. Like a supplement, but without actually creating a physical supplement which would be sold separately.

One drawback to that business model would be that some people who passed MLC in May and have no interest in the second printing for themselves might take advantage of such a program to buy one cheap and resell it. They would be giving up their first edition which would have some resale value, but the brand new second edition might have enough better resale value to make it worthwhile for them.

I don't really like how the 11th edition contained more than 100 errors or typos, it really bothered me when I was studying, in the end I think it was the company's responsibilities to check for those errors before they actually printed it out and sold it to those people who need it in the first place. We bought it for more than $200 dollars for god sake, I think we deserve much more than that. In my opinion, I think people who purchased the original 11th edition should get a discount if they want to buy the 11th edition second printing.
