I definitely agree that management and leadership are different. I have heard the phrase 'You mange things, you lead people'.

And managers are in turn things as well.

It's too difficult to separate good leader from "someone who is in a position of leadership and you agree with him". Good leaders are those that are able to guide a large % of the population, regardless of who they are, and these are rare. Most likely, there is no such thing as a true 'leader', only personable/charismatic people put in situations where they learn what sorts of words and action influence the people they are supposed to influence.

Additionally, many of the best "leaders" are sociopaths.

Look at all your c-suite people and the ones close to c-suite. You'll see a ton of sociopathic and psychopathic behavior I bet. Same at upper echelons of politics.
