Most study programs have some type of a clause about failing x number of times, plus the exam results are usually tied to your performance review. No point in adding further restrictions on study time.

never, thankfully
Often my studying was done late into the evening, and my "study time" was used to catch up on sleep the next morning. |

Why didn't you just study during study time and sleep at night?

the difficulty lies in the fact that everyone works well under different conditions.
do constraints improve or hinder performance?

At a prior employer, I had a peer that decided a couple months before the exam that she wasn't going to make a real effort. They'd tell me about going to the movies, taking a nap, etc during company paid "study time".
Not long after this sitting, I became this person's boss. That was awkward. Perhaps company policy has come about due to past abuses. I don't worry about that too much now, as people that engage in this type of behavior get weeded out of the program pretty quickly. |
