At least Gordon didn't win. If I'm going to sit and watch one of these boring races beginning to end, that's all I ask. Gordon caused the wreck that wiped out all the big names, but he survives it. They might as well draw numbers out of a hat to see who wins these things.
I like how Marlin defended getting out of his car on red by saying Earnhardt did it once too. Not bad coming from the guy who caused the initial contact that killed him. |

I'm kicking myself for missing the end of the race. Not because of the accident, but because I love hearing Ward talk.
When Jerry Nadeau left the European road circuit for Winston Cup, someone asked him what the greatest difference was. He said, "Everyone here speaks English. Except for Ward Burton." |

I figure NASCAR races are like basketball - only the last 10% of the action is worth watching. Only difference sometimes in basketball it's not the case. It's always the case in NASCAR - a race between whoever all was lucky enough to get through that far.
Some yellow or red flag always comes out to make it a 5-10 lap shootout. When that doesn't happen, the races are terrible boring ('00 Daytona for example). |
