Default Is this considered cheating?

Say I write down some problems from the official exam, rip out the paper, fold it, and stuff it in my pocket so I can figure out how to do it for next time (in case I fail)

What are the chances of me getting away with that?

What are the consequences if I get caught?

It is cheating

The consequences are disqualification, disqualification with a ban, and disqualification with a long-term ban.

The consequence for this will be the long-term ban, normally ranging from two years to life.

Seems unlikely that you'll ever be caught. Also seems like a move with very little benefit. Aren't there tons of easily obtainable sample exams?

The Prometric administrator counts the number pages in the scratch paper booklet as you enter and as you leave the exam. If you do this you will face severe consequences.

You would likely be banned from membership in the SoA/CAS for an extensive period of time.

I had a piece of gum and no where to spit it so I ripped out a corner of my prometric booklet, folded my gum into it, and threw it out once the exam was over. The proctor called me on it, fished the scrap out of the garbage, unfolded it to make sure the rip matched, recrumpled it, and put it in the booklet. She then printed out my pass notice and I got the hell out of there.

Good times (and an incredibly stupid question).

Exactly. If you can't memorize a few problems, then you're going to wash out on the written exams anyhow.
