Hire a bunch of useless administrators/adjuncts = lower student/faculty ratio = instant (albeit meaningless) boost in rankings.

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that neither UF or FSU cracked the list for most beautiful schools (and attractiveness of students was part of the equation)

Neither did my grad school. But at least my grad school is a top 10 for party school, and it wasn't on the list of least rigorous schools.
Skinny isn't always pretty. But big...is big. Not for me, thanks.

The idea of a party school (as currently contemplated) is based on a Playboy article about Florida State from almost 30 years ago. I don't remember the year, exactly. I was about 9 or 10 when I read it, I think. Before rankings and all this BS, FSU was singled out for its culture. Others may have surpassed it; but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we appreciate it.

I have no idea how rigorous it was. I wasn't much for the classroom.

I've heard that about my grad school either. Oh, I just found the article in SI that says it

In 2004, Playboy Magazine said: "ranking [where I went to grad school] among party schools is like putting the Yankees in the Little League World Series."
I swear I tried looking a while ago and couldn't find it, so I was starting to think it was just a rumor like the one about how our library is sinking because the architect forgot to take in account the weight of the books.

And I think the girls being skinnier in your area is probably more of a function of living in a metropolitan area known for caring about looks over being in a warm climate. I moved into a significantly warmer climate and I haven't noticed a significant change in average weight.

I hate hot though, especially when that means fat women in thongs
