Hell, Quebec lets you sign a document that you are eligible to vote and then that can be challenged later by one of the parties and your vote excludes and criminal charges are possible if you vote falsely. I'm ok with that as well.
I don't think anyone has a big problem with having somewhat stricter or less strict laws.

It's just that these laws were passed with an evil purpose.

There is essentially no evidence of voter fraud at the booth. It simply isn't worth committing. Cracking down on a non-existent crime, by forcing people to deal with bureaucracy and redtape of the MVA/Court-Houses, and setting up more expensive filters on voting day-- this should be completely antithetical to the conservative agenda. And if you came up to the average republican voter and explained that they would agree. But Republican leaders are obviously using these laws as a tool to stop legitimate voters. It's a very poorly disguised anti-democratic conspiracy, occurring on a level that nobody really cares about.

it has been well established that all these small government "fiscal conservatives" don't mind wasteful government spending and government intrusion into our lives if it is proposed and executed by "their people" and helps "their cause".

If conservatives truly cared about voter fraud, they would require actually do something to counteract the greatest source of voter fraud, absentee balloting. Shockingly enough, the republicans don't seem to care much about that. couldn't have anything at all to do with the fact that absentee voters vote significantly redder than average.

So, do "no tolerance" for fraud voters like Mr. Diesel and Mr. Cook think that the practice of absentee ballots (with the exception of the military) be ended? Any source of fraud, even just two, is justification for ending this "Gravy Train"?

or are you both going to continue to be giant freaking hypocrites on this subject just like everyone else on the right?
