Traci-

Why is it that sometimes when I hit the Refresh button on my browser, it updates whether the folders are red or yellow, and other times I hit Refresh and it doesn't? What can I be doing different?

don't trust the red vs. yellow folders to be correct after refreshing ... seems to work fine when you first sign on, but it's hit-and-miss after that

I think if you wait 15 minutes, the refresh updates the folders for new posts, but not before then.

The best way to tell is to look at the color of the text for the links themselves, rather than the folder pictures. I ignore the pictures as much as I can, mostly because they're effectively useless, and also because the ones on fire are somewhat disturbing.

Disturbing? I've been trying to light them all up; didn't mean to disturb anyone though. I'll have to stop posting for a while.

What causes the switch from red folders to yellow is a mystery known only to a few and has little relation to whether you've read a folder.

T tried to turn off the flaming folders a while back, but the only way to do this is based on the number of replies. This is set to the max of 999, so any folders with more than 999 posts will still show the flaming folders. Not fixable without doing some programming.

I hope to upgrade to version 2 of the board sometime over the next few months, perhaps some of this stuff is cleaned up.

While we're on little annoying things, here one that bugs me: After replying to a multi-page thread, the software automatically sends you to the first page of the thread. Even the link that says "Click here to view your message" doesn't really mean what it says - it, too, send you to the first page. Can this be changed to redirect to the current page?

Petty, I know, but I feel better for getting that out of my system.

Pseud, you are a good man. The flip back to first page drives me crazy too!

A software fix would be best.

Absent that, I use the backspace key twice to get back to the prior screen, then hit refresh to see it with my message.
