No way in hell that'll ever pass, due to all the protests from immigrant communities (Mexico). Besides, you already need ID to get on airplanes.

I'm fine with a national ID card. Not because I think it would do a lot about terrorism, but becuase it could be used to reduce illegal immigration in general.

I don't like the pattern of having immigration laws, having them broken, then giving "amnesty" and citizenship to people who manage to avoid them long enough.
