Default Investment Actuary

Is there anyone working as an Investment Actuary? What exactly is the role of an investment actuary? What do you do everyday? What is the difference between investment actuaries and financial engineers?

I have tremendous interest in both investment and math. I am currently working in a pension consulting company, the work itself is kinda boring and does not require much of the knowledge required for the exams. I have passed 4 exams and planning to start taking CFA I in December. I have been trying to figure out a career path that suits me the best but I am still very confused at the moment.

Please advice. Really appreciate it.
