Default Opera vs Mozilla Firefox

Anyone used both? Which do you prefer and why? A guy who works in my area told me he uses Opera at home. There may have been a thread on this in the past.

I like Firefox, which seems to be some hybrid of Opera (loads pages really fast), and Mozilla (multiple browsing tabs, etc). I like the interface, as it's very minimal and simple.

The problem with Opera is that you have to pay for it.
Still, I just downloaded it this week and it seems neat and avoids some of the problems that I got with Mozilla.
However, I really like Mozilla.

I don't like having to download all the d@mn plug-ins. Granted I'll take having to download plugins over f'ing pop-ups coming up right as you are typing a website in the address bar, making the pop-up the active window, so that you can't finish the address without clicking back to IE!!!!!!!!!I HATE POPUPS and IE. I am a very zealous convert (recent, too).

Well, in my case Mozilla does not seem to like java at all and with one security program it always loops.
But, to reiterate Tider_insider Mozilla is still a very good program.

So which would you choose? Opera or Mozilla Firefox?

My coworker likes Opera since you can have multiple sessions inside one window (like Excel 97? I've never tried Opera) and says the the ad banner in the free version is small and minimal.

I've started using FireFox 0.8. I down loaded the Tab Extensions and get multiple tabs in the browser if I so choose. The only weird things I've seen is that when I close down and want to save all of the tabs so that they are there the next time I open the browser, I need to click on save and then close it down a second time. Also, sometimes, if I open a link from my bookmarks, it opens as a side panle and then crashes Firefox. Then if I open it right back up, everything is fine. I have heard that version 0.9 is out but somewhat unstable as of about a week ago.

Definitely Mozilla Firefox.
However, a lot of that has to do with the fact I have more experience with it.
Also Opera has a monster.com pop up and ads all over it, relative to Mozilla .

hey there kiddos... it's your good buddy from UCONN... anyways, I was searching the web and found this nifty little tool for all of you that are complaining about installing all the plug-ins for mozilla. since I just downloaded the new 0.9 version I had to run this through myself.
