Default old 150 exams

In a thread a while ago, a few students noted that a few of the problems from the May 04 exam were nearly identical to practice problems from older, pre 2000 exams. How can we get these to study? Do any of the manuals have them, or have practice problems from them?

Arch has a few. I have a CSM manual that literally has hundreds and hundreds of problems. It's from 2000 though when nothing else was even available. Not sure if you can still get that many anywhere. I'll be studying that, that's for sure. Oh, also, Batten's problem sets have a lot of pre 2000 problems.

The CSM manual plus supplement is entirely thousands of old exam questions. However after two attempts at course 3 and having used this I still haven't passed.

Yeah, the thing to remember is that what works for someone else may not work for you. I've tried a lot of different things and none have worked yet. This time I'm focusing on the texts to make sure I really grasp all the material AND doing tons of problems. Old, new, whatever.

Capt'n...it's a very good idea to get your hands on as many problems as possible, and see as many variations of problems as possible, but not with the hope of there being an identical question on the SOA exam.

What I mean is, I know many people who attempt to memorize the question and answer without fully understanding the underlying concepts. As nasty as it may sound, I would recommend working through the practical questions in bowers if you need more stuff to do (I used those in addition to the CSM, Actex and old exams - only the ones posted on the SOA website - and passed this May).

Hope this helps.
